As previously reported, Tyler Sanders was found dead inside of his Los Angeles home on June 16.
The actor, best known for his recent role on 911: Lone Star, was only 18 years old at the time of his tragic passing.
“Tyler was a talented actor with a bright future. He comes from a wonderful family and we ask that you respect their privacy at this time,” Sanders’ rep said last month of his client’s shocking passing.
“The cause of death is unknown and currently being investigated.”
This final sentence remains true.
We may not know for several weeks — for certain — just how/why Sanders passed away.
However, TMZ now states that the young actor died from an accidental drug overdose.
Insiders connected to the death investigation (as TMZ describes them), told this celebrity gossip outlet that Sanders had a history of drug use — and cops found a plastic straw and white powder in the room where he died.
Sanders, who had 12,000 Instagram followers at the time of his death and who also appeared on Fear the Walking Dead, was discovered after a friend called the police in order to conduct a welfare check on Tyler.
This friend had not heard from Tyler all morning after a night out with the rising star.
Sanders was subsequently was laid to rest in Houston … and an attendee at the funeral actually told TMZ that Tyler’s dad, David Sanders, delivered the eulogy, telling the crowd his son died of an apparent drug overdose.
Tyler’s dad also emphasized at this sad gathering that Sanders suffered from depression.
Sanders played a young Jake Otto in an episode of Fear The Walking Dead.
He was later cast as Leo in Amazon’s Just Add Magic in 2019.
This casting led to a starring role in the 2020 spin-off series, Just Add Magic: Magic City, which told the story of step-siblings Leo (Sanders), Zoe (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport), and their neighbor Ish (Jenna Qureshi).
Sanders was nominated for an Emmy for his role in the hit series.
To be clear, the aforementioned cause of death has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
We may not be privy to the autopsy results for many more months, perhaps as many as six, according to various websites.
We continue to send our thoughts to the family members, friends and loved ones of Tyler Sanders.
May he rest in peace.
