NEW Sky One series  My Wonderful Life shows grieving families getting heartbreaking video messages from beyond the grave.

The show allowed terminally ill loved ones to record clips and arrange surprises for their relatives after their own death.

It is due to debut later this week, and a new trailer shows tales of sadness and of devotion as families gather to hear the last words of their loved ones.

The show follows four people in the final months of their life, who were all asked to record messages which would then be played to their friends and families months after they had died.

One of those who took part was former nurse Karon Peters from Somerset.

She made a series of heart-wrenching clips for her friends and family before she passed away in November, 2015 at the age of 52.

Karon, who had been battling breast cancer, wanted to record a special video for her husband of 25 years Phil, but died before she was able to record it.

In scenes shown in the trailer, her loved ones are seen crying as they watch her speak to them one last time.

All four people who featured in the show have passed away since filming took place in 2015 and 2016.

The show also featured Geordie Lee Hall, 45, who recorded a heartbreaking message for his wife Heather before his death from skin cancer in October, 2016.

Former teacher Linda Banks recorded a goodbye film for her children, telling them to look after each other once she has gone.

As well as recording messages, some of them asked to arrange surprises to cheer up their relatives after their loss.

Ian Edmunds, who died aged 56, arranged a Wizard of Oz-themed surprise for his wife Christine and his efforts left her in floods of tears.
