Lottery players in one state are being warned to check their tickets after a $1 million prize has been left unclaimed.
A Mega Millions player in Washington won in a drawing earlier this month.
The player has until April 3, 2024, to claim their prize, according to the Washington Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased at Silver Reef Casino in Ferndale, a town minutes from the Canadian border and about 100 miles north of Seattle.
The casino, owned by the Lummi Nation of Native Americans, offers drawing games like Mega Millions on top of slots and table games.
One lucky winner who purchased a Mega Millions ticket there has only a few months left to claim their million dollar prize.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Mega Millions is a drawing game, meaning players can choose or be randomly assigned numbers on their lottery ticket.
The numbers include five numbers between 1 and 70 on white balls, and another number between 1 and 25 on the golden mega ball.
Every Tuesday and Friday, Mega Millions draws numbers. Matching numbers can win players money in several ways.

Jackpot winners have two options for collecting their winnings when they contact the lottery.

An annuity, however, pays more over time. In the case of Mega Millions, the annuity breaks the jackpot into 30 annual payments, each 5% bigger than the last.
