It's Over! To the Surprise of No One!

Katie Thurston is once again a bachelorette.

Just without a capital B this time around.

The former ABC franchise lead confirmed on Monday that she’s split from John Hersey, a contestant on her season of The Bachelorette with whom she connected romantically long after the cameras stopped rolling.

“Statement: no we aren’t together,” Thurston simply wrote on Instagram to announce the split, hinting at some bitterness between the exes.

For his part, Hersey opened up at least a tad bit more.

“As Katie stated earlier, we are no longer dating,” he began.

“The decision was not made lightly and it was obviously not an easy one to make.

After sending Hersey home during week two of season 17 of The Bachelorette, Thurston got engaged to Blake Moynes.

The pair split in October, however, just a few weeks before Thurston went public with Hersey.

Moynes responded by saying he believed Thurston had cheated on him, at the very least in an emotional sense.

Thurston never really addressed this allegation, instead revealing via her “12 Days of Messy” challenge — a.k.a assigning her exes Taylor Swift songs — that she was dating Hersey after having been just friends for awhile.

“Once we explored our connection, we knew that there was something long-term there and we knew that we were going to have to kind of own that,” Thurston said on the “Off the Vine” podcast in March.

Thurston then delved into the timing of her romance with Hersey.

“People talk about like, ‘Oh, it was so quick,’ and like, that’s fine. You can think [about] timelines, that’s fine.

“The show is its own quickness. But we just kind of wanted to own exactly what we are.

“We didn’t want to sneak around in public and have people take photos of us or come up with their own agenda or narrative.”

As far as we know, Hersey and Thurston were living at the time they broke up.

“I love being able to share special moments with you all — the funny ones. The happy ones. The outrageous, embarrassing, and heartfelt ones,” continued Hersey on Tuesday.

” But I don’t know if it will ever get easier to share the sad ones.

“I appreciate every one of you that has supported us throughout this journey. We could not (and would not) be here without you.”

Just a few days ago, another Bachelorette ended a relationship, as Michelle Young announced it was over between her and Nayte Olukoya.

As recently as January, meanwhile, Hersey gushed over Thurston as follows:

“Falling for you was the best decision I never had a say in, and I couldn’t be happier.

“I could have never dreamt up what this year had in store for me. I am both in awe of, and extremely grateful for the circumstances that brought us together.

“And thank goodness you dumped me on national television, or else we could have never gotten to where we are now.”
