Coolio, a popular rapper, died on September 28 at the age of 59. Jarez Posey, the rapper’s manager, confirmed the death and said that the former died at the home of a friend. His manager at Trinity Artists International, Sheila Finegan, also revealed the news, saying that the rapper “touched the globe with the gift of his music.” Finegan continued:

Artis Leon Ivey Jr., the artist’s true name, died while visiting a friend. Jarez said that the rapper went to the restroom but did not return for quite some time. When his companion broke into the restroom, he saw the rapper motionless on the floor. Paramedics suspect Coolio died as a result of a heart attack, according to Posey, but the formal cause of death has yet to be confirmed. According to law enforcement officials, no drugs or drug paraphernalia were discovered on the scene. They said that an autopsy and toxicology tests would reveal the primary reason for his death. At about 4 p.m., paramedics arrived at the rapper’s friend’s home and informed that the rapper had died on the spot.
